CLUB RIDE LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Know the route and describe it at the start of the ride.
2. Make sure the group leaves ON TIME – waiting only up to 5 minutes for
people who said they’d definitely be there. People have to get to work.
3. If the group is large and/or likely to split, appoint a sweeper/easy
group leader and make sure that person knows the route.
4. Take extra special care to help new riders.
5. Wear your Desert Foxes jersey!!
EVERYBODY’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Be on time!!! The ride LEAVES at the published time, unless otherwise
noted. People have to get to work/school/etc., so respect your fellow Foxes
and don't make them late. If you are late, understand that the ride leader
has the right to go without you, even if you're in the parking lot putting
on your shoes.
2. Basic bike maintenance – no squeaky chains, no rubbing brakes, and be
able to change a tire! If you don't know how to change a flat, go to the
shop and have someone teach you. They don't bite (hard.)
3. Bring plenty of water, repair stuff, food, etc.
4. Watch out for each other, especially at traffic lights, and point out
obstructions in the road.
5. COMMUNICATE on club rides! Be patient for slower riders, and yell
(loudly) if you get a flat or if you are getting dropped and a regroup point
has not been announced. If you're going to leave the group, let the ride
leader know so she doesn't make everyone wait for you.
6. If the sun is not up, USE LIGHTS!!!
7. Have fun!!!
**REMEMBER TO TAKE FOOD ON LONG RIDES! Plenty of drink also recommended** |
