Membership is approved only after candidates complete a
membership form and sign a liability waiver. In lieu of membership
dues, all members must purchase a club jersey, and volunteer to assist at
a minimum of two Desert Foxes sponsored events annually.
-
All members must wear an ANSI approved helmet while
representing the Desert Foxes on a bicycle.
-
Any member leading a club ride should wear their club
jersey.
-
Weekday rides are restricted to women club members
only; men and members from other teams are allowed on weekend rides
with advance notification.
-
Obey all traffic laws as if you are driving a vehicle
(i.e. stop at all stop signs, obey traffic lights, observe school zones,
etc.)
-
No lewd behavior (i.e. finger gestures, biting,
displaying private parts, etc.) while representing the Desert Foxes
and our sponsors on any club ride, or at any cycling event. Those
members who are well known as Desert Foxes should be conscientious of
their public behavior at all times.
-
All policies (including calling team meetings and
listserve protocol) are to be set by the Desert Foxes Cycling Club Board
of Directors. Any questions or concerns regarding the club should be
directed to the Board, and not the general listserve. When in
doubt, e-mail
board@desertfoxescycling.com.
-
Only approved members will have access to Club e-mails.
All members should be careful to use the group e-mail system responsibly.
Only announcements relevant to the team (team meetings, upcoming events,
ride schedules, etc.) should be posted while more personal e-mails must be
directed to the party(ies) of interest (arranging meeting places, exchange
of equipment, non-cycling activities such as running and swimming, etc.).
This is to reduce the influx of the large numbers of e-mails that flood
the general group's inboxes. Two separate listserves are provided
for daily ride reports/comments and race coverage reports.
-
Violation of any rule may result in
immediate removal from the club.
*It is your
responsibility to be aware of rule revisions. Read this section
frequently in order to remain abreast of any and all changes.
